To my absolute horror, every swimsuit in that store was either too small, too big, or looked like it had been personally designed by someone who hated joy. As a woman who proudly embraces her curves, my confidence is usually pretty solid—but that day, the fitting room was winning.

Somewhere between swimsuit #17 and a floral disaster that should have come with a warning label, an idea was born.
